2018 Repertory Workshops

Join Nimbus Artistic Director Samuel Pott and Nimbus company members to learn works from Nimbus' repertory including EstherMemo and Tie the Not. Each workshop will include a warm-up class followed by in-depth examination into the choreography and creative process of each work.
(Note: Company Audition will include phrases from Repertory Workshops)

Repertory Workshops will take place at Nimbus Dance Works' Studios at 165 Newark Ave, Jersey City, NJ (off the Grove St. PATH stop)

Single Workshop: $45; $40 if registered before 5/11;

All 3 Workshops: $120; $100 if registered before 5/11;

Repertory Workshop #1: Esther,  Choreography: Samuel Pott.  Artistic Director, Samuel Pott's most recent piece in collaboration with Brooklyn Indie-Rock Band Sky-Pony. Esther is an edgy interpretation of the Old Testament heroine whose rise to power entangles themes of feminism, tribalism and seduction.

Repertory Workshop #2: Memo, Choreography: Samuel Pott. One of Nimbus Dance Works' signature pieces, Memo draws together personal and collective memory of performers and audiences alike for a uniquely meaningful experience for dancers and audiences alike.

Repertory Workshop #3: Tie the Not, Choreography: Vernard Gilmore. Using Vernard Gilmore's uniquely physical yet sensitive movement, Tie the Not is a whirlwind of narrative, all set to the driving music of Steve Reich.
